was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where oversubscription occurs in any category, priority will be given to those students who live nearest to the College by straight line measurement. If there is no other way of separating the application according to the admissions criteria and to admit both, or all, of the children would cause the Published Admission Number for the child's year group to be exceeded, the Local Authority, on behalf of the Governing Body, allocate the final place by random selection (lottery).
Within each oversubscription category, priority is given firstly to siblings of children attending Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College at the time of admission, then by shortest distance. Parish boundaries are as shown on the Archdiocese of Birmingham parish boundary map. Church of England feeder schools listed in Note 8 apply to criterion 8.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
