Side-by-side comparison covers inspection grades (Ofsted, Estyn, Education Scotland, ETI, ISI), KS2 / GCSE / A-level results, Progress 8 and Attainment 8 where published, admissions criteria, fees for independent schools, pupil demographics and catchment data. Each cell shows the metric only when it has been published for that school — empty cells mean the school or its nation does not publish that figure.
Yes. You can put schools from any UK nation side by side. Because each inspectorate uses a different framework (Ofsted in England, Estyn in Wales, Education Scotland in Scotland, ETI in Northern Ireland and ISI for many independent schools), we show each school against its own inspection grade with the inspectorate named. Where metrics are not comparable across nations — for example Progress 8 is an English measure only — we leave the cell empty rather than fabricate an equivalent.
Yes — comparing schools side by side is free. Pro subscribers get additional layers that the free comparison does not show: multi-year performance trends, oversubscription priority rules, advanced demographics, predictive admissions chances and full league-table access. Free is enough for most parents researching a shortlist; Pro is for parents going deep on a final decision.
Statutory government sources: the Department for Education and Ofsted in England, Education Scotland and the Scottish Government, Estyn and StatsWales in Wales, and the Department of Education and ETI in Northern Ireland — plus the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) for many independent schools, and Companies House and the Charity Commission for trust and ownership data. We refresh data monthly and every figure links back to its published source.
