When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority in the case of over-subscription will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance, using Hertfordshire County Council's straight line distance measurement system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each numbered category, sub-priorities apply in order: (i) exceptional social/medical/pastoral need, (ii) sibling attending the school, (iii) children of staff employed one or more years or recruited to fill a demonstrable skill-shortage post. Twins and siblings from multiple births admitted where one child is last ranked within PAN, where logistically possible.
