St Dominic Catholic Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

2. 2Baptised Catholic with CCP, parish resident, sibling — Baptised Catholic children, with a Certificate of Catholic Practice, who are resident in the Parishes of Harpenden, Redbourn and Wheathampstead, who have a sibling at the school at the time of application.
3. 3Baptised Catholic with CCP, parish resident — Baptised Catholic children, with a Certificate of Catholic Practice, who are resident in the Parishes of Harpenden, Redbourn and Wheathampstead.
4. 4Baptised Catholic, parish resident, sibling — Baptised Catholic children residing in the Parishes of Harpenden, Redbourn and Wheathampstead at the time of application, having a sibling at the school at the time of application.

7. 7Looked after / previously looked after children (non-Catholic) — Children who are "looked after" and children previously "looked after" (see notes "children looked after)
8. 8Catechumens and Eastern Christian Church members — Catechumens and members of an Eastern Christian Church.
9. 9Non-Catholic sibling — Non-Catholic children who have a sibling at the school at the time of application.
10. 10Other Christian denominations — Children of other Christian denominations whose application is supported either by a certificate of baptism/reception or by a letter from their Minister of Religion confirming membership of the faith community.
11. 11Children of other faiths — Children of other faiths whose application is supported by a letter from their Religious Leader confirming membership of the faith community.
12. 12Any other children — Any other children.

If two applications tie: Where the offer of places to all the applicants in any of the sub-categories listed above would still lead to oversubscription, the places up to the admission number will be offered to those living nearest to the school in line with the Local Authority policy (see notes "Distance from school"). If distances are equal, address point/door number rules apply, then a random number allocation.

The Governing Body gives top priority within any criterion to a child eligible for: i) Pupil Premium funding, ii) Service Premium funding, iii) Early Years Pupil Premium funding attending St Dominic Nursery, or iv) Service Premium funding attending St Dominic Nursery. In the event of oversubscription of eligible children in any of the criteria, places up to the admissions number would be offered to those living nearest to the school. For criteria 2-6, places are allocated in proportion to the number of applications from each Parish (see Appendix 1). Children with an EHCP naming the school must be admitted before these criteria are applied (not numbered as part of the ordered list).

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
