When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. A 'straight line' distance measurement is used... measured using a computerised mapping system to two decimal places... In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each category listed, additional sub-priority provisions apply in order: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need places application at top of category; (ii) sibling attendance increases priority within categories 1-4; (iii) children of staff have increased priority within categories 1-5. The admission authority will, where logistically possible, admit twins and all siblings from multiple births where one of the children is the last child ranked within the school's PAN. EHCP children are admitted first by law before these arrangements apply.
