was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic First School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, priority given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (Note 5); if distances are equal, random selection (lottery) supervised by someone independent.
Note 1: Children with an EHCP naming the school must be admitted; this is dealt with separately from oversubscription criteria and reduces places available before ranking. PAN set at 60 for Reception September 2027. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Worcestershire County Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
