When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the Local Governing Body will give priority to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (see Note 5). Distances are measured in a straight line using the GeoCode Points for each property and the GeoCode point for the school. Where it is not possible to decide, the Local Authority will allocate the final place by random selection (lottery).
Note 1: Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the school must be admitted; this is dealt with by a separate procedure and takes precedence over these oversubscription criteria, reducing places available to other children if it takes place first.
