When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where it is not possible to distinguish between applicants using the oversubscription criteria (e.g. same address or exact same distance), the Local Authority will select the child to be offered the final place by random allocation (lottery), carried out by two officers of the Admissions Service in the presence of a local authority Solicitor.
