When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Children looked after by a Local Authority (in accordance with section 22 of the Children Act 1989) and children who were previously looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements or special guardianship order. This includes those children who appear to the admission authority to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Sibling in priority area — Children living in the priority area who have a brother or sister at the school at the time of admission.
3. 3Other children in priority area — Other children living in the priority area.
4. 4Sibling outside priority area — Children living outside the priority area who have a brother or sister at the school at the time of admission.
5. 5Former nursery attendees outside priority area — Children living outside the priority area who have attended the school nursery for a minimum of one year at ten hours per week, immediately prior to applying for a Reception class place.
6. 6Worship at Coleshill Parish Church, outside priority area — Children living outside the priority area with at least one parent who is involved in regular worship at Coleshill Parish Church. Regular worship means attendance at public worship at least once a month during the 12-month period immediately prior to the Local Authority's closing date for admission applications. A supporting Reference Form(*1) completed and signed by the Vicar should be submitted direct to the school office.
7. 7Worship at other Christian churches, outside priority area — Children living outside the priority area with at least one parent who is involved in regular worship at other Christian churches(*2). Regular worship means attendance at public worship at least once a month during the 12-month period immediately prior to the Local Authority's closing date for admission applications. A supporting Reference Form(*1) completed and signed by a Christian Minister / Lay Reader should be submitted direct to the school office.
8. 8All other children — All other children.

If two applications tie: If offering places within any one of the criteria would cause the school's admission number to be exceeded, then children living nearest will be offered first.

Children with an EHC Plan that names Coleshill Church of England Primary School will be offered a place first; this may reduce the number of places available.
