Nene Park Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1EHCP/Statement naming the Academy — The Academy will admit children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education, Health and Care Plan which names the Academy as the appropriate school for the child.
2. 2Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children and previously looked after children. A 'looked after child' is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services functions (see the definition in Section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989) at the time of making an application to a school. Previously looked after children are children who were looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order).
3. 3Children formerly in state care outside England, now adopted — Children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. A child is regarded as having been in state care in a place outside of England if they were accommodated by a public authority, a religious organisation or any other provider of care whose sole purpose is to benefit society.
4. 4PUFC Football Academy programme — Children who Nene Park Academy sponsor in partnership with Peterborough United Football club and enrol on to PUFC's Football Academy programme.
5. 5In catchment, attending catchment primary school, with sibling — Children who live in the catchment area of Nene Park Academy*, attend primary schools** within the catchment area of Nene Park Academy and who have a sibling*** at the school at the time of application.
6. 6In catchment, with sibling — Children who live in the catchment area of Nene Park Academy* with a sibling*** at the school at the time of application.
7. 7In catchment, attending catchment primary school — Children who live in the catchment area of Nene Park Academy* who are attending the primary schools** within it.
8. 8In catchment — Children who live in the catchment area of Nene Park Academy*.
9. 9Out of catchment, attending catchment primary school, with sibling — Children who live outside the catchment area of Nene Park Academy*, who are attending primary schools** within it and who have a sibling*** at the school at the time of application.
10. 10Out of catchment, with sibling — Children who live outside the catchment area of Nene Park Academy* who have a sibling*** at the school at the time of application.
11. 11Out of catchment, attending catchment primary school — Children who live outside the catchment area of Nene Park Academy* who are attending the primary schools** within the catchment area.

If two applications tie: Where 2 applications cannot be otherwise separated a Tie Breaker will apply and random allocation will be used. This process will be independently verified. The school will use a random number generator in this procedure.

Within each oversubscription criterion, priority is given to children living nearest to the Academy (straight-line distance using LLPG). Siblings of multiple births or children with birthdays in the same academic year straddling the PAN may be admitted above PAN. The document also sets out separate Post-16 (Year 12) oversubscription criteria. PUFC Football Academy criterion (rank 4) applies to Year 7; a separate PUFC U19 squads criterion applies at Post-16.
