was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Nene Valley Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If a tie-break is necessary to determine which child is admitted, the child living closest to the school measured in a straight line will be given priority for admission. If there are two or more children with exactly the same circumstances, (e.g., the same distance measurement), then Random Allocation, undertaken by a person unconnected with the school or the Trust, will be used as a tie-break to decide who has highest priority for admission.
The document lists SEND (EHC Plan) as criterion 1 within the oversubscription criteria, but also states separately that 'Places will first be allocated to children who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan that names the school as appropriate provision.' Attendance at any pre-school setting does not confer any special consideration for admission into the Reception year. Catchment area is defined by Peterborough City Council.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
