was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Ormiston Bushfield Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there are not enough places to satisfy all applications under any one criterion, priority will be given in accordance with proximity to the academy. Where two or more applicants live an equal distance from the academy and it is not possible to differentiate between them, priority will be determined by a random allocation process, independently verified by someone independent of the academy and OAT.
Criterion 6 ('The attendance of a sibling on the Academy roll at the time of admission') is printed as its own, separately-ranked criterion below the feeder-school criterion, distinct from the catchment-area sibling criterion at rank 2 — reproduced exactly as printed, without further clarification in the source of how it differs (e.g. whether it is meant for out-of-catchment siblings). Distance is the straight-line distance between the academy's main gate and the child's home address (LLPG/OS AddressBase seed points); for flats, priority is by floor level (ground, first, second, etc.) before any lottery. Where a pupil has an EHC plan naming the academy, that pupil is admitted and the PAN reduced accordingly (not itself a numbered criterion). Waiting list maintained until 31 December 2027 following the main intake.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
