When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the case of a tie, or of oversubscription within a criterion, in categories A, B or C, places are offered on the basis of a fair, transparent random selection within that criterion (per the Admissions Code of Practice 2014 paragraph 2.23) - not a distance measurement. The document separately notes that, in the case of oversubscription, children of staff (employed at the College for two or more years, or recruited to fill a demonstrable skill shortage) may be given priority.
Children with an EHCP naming the College must be admitted; this is stated to NOT be an oversubscription criterion, but such places count towards the PAN of whichever category (A, B, or otherwise C) the child can be identified with. Looked after/previously looked after status is separately described as "not an over-subscription criterion and... the first and highest criteria for admission", even though it is also explicitly numbered "Criterion 1" within each of categories A, B and C (both framings are given verbatim in the source and are transcribed above as printed, i.e. included as rank 1 of each category). Disability: applications from a child with a disability are considered alongside all other applicants under the criteria above (non-discrimination statement, no separate criterion). Sixth Form (Year 12): the document states only a general process (internal Year 11 students and external candidates both considered, subject to course place availability, published academic entry requirements per the Sixth Form prospectus, and a suitability consultation) - no ordered oversubscription criteria list or PAN for Year 12 is printed, so no separate Year 12 entry is given here. Waiting lists comprise three parallel lists (A, B, C); a vacancy in A goes to the top of the A waiting list (falling back to B if A's list is empty, and vice versa); a vacancy in C only goes to the C list.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
