When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school. All the names will be entered into a hat and the required number of names will be drawn out.
Within categories 1-3 & 5, sub-provisions apply in order: (I) exceptional social/medical/pastoral need, (II) staff children, (III) sibling attendance, (IV) distance. Within category 6 (other siblings): (i) sibling not falling into 1-3 or 5, (ii) distance. Within categories 7-9: (i) exceptional need, (ii) staff children, (iii) distance. Sixth Form (Year 12) has separate admission number of 125 (10 external places) with academic entry requirements (APS 5+ including English/Maths grade 5+), and external applicants beyond course requirements are prioritised per the same oversubscription criteria.
