When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance, calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the front door of the child's home address and the main entrance of the school using Hertfordshire County Council's computerised measuring system. If there is a need for a tie break where two different addresses are the same distance from a school, in the case of a block of flats for example, the lower door number will be deemed nearest. If there are two identical addresses of separate applicants, the tie break will be random using an individual random number assigned between 1 and 1 million, with the lowest number given priority.
Within each numbered category, sub-priorities are applied in order: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need; (ii) sibling attendance at the school at time of enrolment; (iii) employment of a parent/legal guardian as staff member at the school at time of application. The admission authority will, where logistically possible, admit twins and all siblings from multiple births where one of the children is the last child ranked within the school's PAN.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
