When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In each category, priority will be given to those living nearest the Academy measured in a straight line from the student's permanent home address to the main Academy point. Rule 5 will apply as a tiebreaker for rules 2, 3 & 4. In the case of two applicants with exactly the same priority under the admissions rules, but only one place being available, the Governing Body will offer places to both applicants.
Document also sets separate Sixth Form (Year 12) admission rules for external applicants with a different order of priority: 1. Looked after/previously looked after children, 2. Students on roll at the Academy in Year 11 preceding the admissions year, 3. Medical or social need, 4. Distance (nearest to Academy address point), with Rule 3 acting as tiebreaker for rules 1 and 2. This Sixth Form entry point is not captured in the main record above, which reflects the normal Year 7 entry arrangements.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
