St Joseph's RC Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Baptised Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who are looked after or previously looked after (See Note 3 below).
2. 2Baptised Catholic children in parish with sibling at school — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of Our Lady and All Saints who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
3. 3Baptised Catholic children living in the parish — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of Our Lady and All Saints.
4. 4Other baptised Catholic children with sibling at school — Other Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
5. 5Other baptised Catholic children — Other Baptised Catholic children (see note 2 below).
6. 6Non-Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Non-Catholic children who are looked after or previously looked after (See Note 3 below).
7. 7Non-Catholic children with sibling at school — Non-Catholic children who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
8. 8Non-Catholic children — Non-Catholic children.

If two applications tie: Where there is oversubscription within a category, priority is given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (straight-line measurement between home and school main entrance, using Ordnance Survey coordinates). Random allocation used if a tie remains after distance measurement.

Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school must be admitted; this is dealt with by a separate procedure and reduces places available to other children before oversubscription criteria are applied. Twins/multiple births admitted where logistically possible even if it exceeds PAN. Deferred entry allowed up to first day of summer term 2028; part-time attendance allowed until compulsory school age. CATCHMENT: For the purposes of this policy, parish boundaries are as shown on the Archdiocese of Birmingham parish boundary map which can be accessed at https://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk/boundary-map and will be applied to the admission arrangements for the academic year 2027/2028. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Dudley MBC admission arrangements directory. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
