Last distance offered at Arrow Vale High School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 9), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Within each criterion, priority is given to those who live nearest to Arrow Vale High School, measured as the shortest straight-line distance using GeoCode Points from the centroid of the home to the centroid of the school buildings (Arcview GIS software, Ordnance Survey co-ordinates). In the event of equi-distant applicants, or multiple births, any place is allocated by random selection (lottery), conducted by a person independent of the school.
Pupils for whom an EHCP has been agreed naming the school are automatically admitted; where known before the Admissions Committee meets, their number is deducted from the 224 places before the oversubscription criteria are applied. Arrow Vale High School is part of Worcestershire's three-tier (first/middle/high) system, admitting at age 13 (Year 9).
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
