St Peter's Collegiate Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — A 'looked after child' is one who is (a) in the care of a Local Authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a Local Authority in the exercise of their social services functions, in England. A 'previously looked after child' is one who was looked after in England, but ceased to be so because they were adopted, or became subject to a Child Arrangements Order or Special Guardianship Order, as well as a child who appears to have been in state care outside of England but ceased to be so as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Foundation Place - worship + sibling — Children with at least one parent who has attended worship at least twice a month for one year prior to the date of application at a church that is a member of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or Churches Together in England and/or the Evangelical Alliance and with a sibling at the School at the time of application and at the time of starting at the School.
3. 3Foundation Place - staff + worship — Children of a staff member of St Peter's Collegiate Academy or the children of the partner of a member of staff, where they have cohabited for at least one year at the child's home address at the time of application, where the staff member has attended worship at least twice a month for one year prior to the date of application at a qualifying church.
4. 4Foundation Place - all other worship — All other children with at least one parent who has attended worship at least twice a month for one year prior to the date of application at a church that is a member of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or Churches Together in England and/or the Evangelical Alliance.
5. 5Open Place - sibling — Children with a sibling who is at the School at the time of application and will continue to be at the School on entry.
6. 6Open Place - feeder schools — Children attending one of the specified feeder schools of application at the time of application: Christ Church Junior School; Dunstall Hill Primary School; St Andrew's Church of England Primary School; St Bartholomew's Church of England Primary School; Benedict Biscop CE Primary School; St Jude's Church of England Primary Academy; St Luke's Church of England Primary School; St Michael's Church of England Primary School; Trinity Church of England Primary Academy; Uplands Junior School; West Park Primary School; Woodthorne Primary School.
7. 7Open Place - staff — Children of a staff member of St Peter's Collegiate Academy or the children of the partner of a member of staff, where they have cohabited for at least one year at the child's home address at the time of application.
8. 8Open Place - all other children — All applicant children not included in any of the criteria above will be allocated places in this criterion.

If two applications tie: Where there are more applicants than places in any oversubscription criterion, the order in which places are allocated will be determined by reference to the distance between the child's home address and the School, with those living closer having higher priority; distance is measured in a straight line using the Local Authority's software. Where distances are equal, a random lottery independent of the School will be used.

Foundation Places are capped at up to 120 places; unfilled Foundation places become additional Open places. EHCP-named children are admitted first by law and are not part of this numbered list.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
