When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Foundation places - Looked after/previously looked after children — Children in public care (looked-after children) and those who ceased to be looked-after children because they were adopted, or because they became subject to a residence order, child arrangements order or a special guardianship order [see Note c].
2. 2Foundation places - Anglican church attendance — Those who attend Anglican churches.
3. 3Foundation places - Other Christian church attendance — Those who attend other Christian churches.
4. 4Foundation places - sub-priority i: siblings — Within each of the above criteria, priority will be given first to children who have a sibling on the roll of the school at the time of application [see Note f].
5. 5Foundation places - sub-priority ii: staff children — Within each of the above criteria, priority will then be given to children of staff [see Note h].
6. 6Foundation places - sub-priority iii: distance — Within each of the above criteria, priority will then be given in order of nearness of home to the school by straight line measurement [see Note i].
7. 7Open places - Looked after/previously looked after children — Children in public care (looked-after children) and those who ceased to be looked-after children because they were adopted, or because they became subject to a residence order, child arrangements order or a special guardianship order [see Note c].
8. 8Open places - siblings — Children who have a sibling on the roll of the school at the time of application, providing the sibling accepted an Open Place [see Note f].
9. 9Open places - staff children — Children of staff [see Note h].
10. 10Open places - distance — In order of nearness of home to the school by straight line measurement [see Note i].

If two applications tie: In the event that two or more applicants have equal right to a place under any of the above criteria and there are insufficient places, the Governing Body will use distances in the first instance, to decide between applicants; where applicants have identical distance measurements, priority amongst them will be determined by the drawing of lots supervised by someone independent of the school.

180 places are split equally into 90 Foundation places (faith-based, ranked 1-3 with sub-priorities i-iii) and 90 Open places (ranked 1-4). Within these totals, 9 Foundation and 9 Open places are reserved for specialist music places allocated via an aptitude test (vocal/instrumental performance and aural test), ranked by total test score; unsuccessful specialist applicants are considered under the general criteria above. Any unfilled foundation places become additional open places, and unsuccessful foundation applicants are considered for open places (with sibling links disregarded if the sibling held a foundation place and the applicant does not meet foundation eligibility).
