How places were offered at Saint Ambrose College, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of over-subscription within any one of the categories, priority will be given to those boys who are in receipt of Pupil Premium followed by boys who live closest to the School (straight line distance, Trafford LLPG/BS7666 coordinates). Where more than one boy lives the same distance in any category, then priority will be given to the boy with the highest score in the Entrance Examination. If score is tied selection would take place by a random draw witnessed by all concerned parties.
Where a child has an EHC Plan which names the School, and the child has passed the Entrance Examination, then the school will admit the child and the number of available places will be reduced accordingly.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
