was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Light Hall School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If a priority group has more applicants than places available, priority will first be given to those with a brother or sister attending followed by those living nearest the school (measured in a straight line from home to school).
Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that names Light Hall School will be offered a place first; this reduces the number of places available before oversubscription criteria are applied. CATCHMENT: Children who normally live in the school's catchment area Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Solihull MBC. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
