was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Icknield Community College, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In categories 4 to 12, priority is given first to children eligible for Service Pupil Premium, then to children living closest to the school by straight-line distance (Oxfordshire County Council calculation from Ordnance Survey seed points, Pythagoras calculation in metres converted to miles to three decimal places). If distance is identical for two or more applicants at different addresses (and not from a multiple birth), random allocation is used by the Local Authority.
Acer Trust Schools (relevant to criterion 4): Botley School, Chalgrove Primary School, Glory Farm Primary School, Icknield Community College, Matthew Arnold School, Stadhampton Primary School, The Cooper School, Watlington Primary School, Wood Green School. A separate, shorter set of oversubscription criteria (6 tiers: LAC/PLAC; exceptional medical/social need; children of staff; Acer Trust school + catchment + sibling; catchment + sibling; catchment area) applies specifically to in-year applications for Years 7-11, in the same descending priority order but without the feeder/catchment-school-only tiers used in the normal round list above. Children with an EHC Plan naming the school are always admitted first (not itself an oversubscription criterion). No sibling priority applies where the only sibling at the school is in Year 13, or in Year 11 and due to leave/where the school has no Sixth Form, or (for immediate in-year entry) where the sibling is not currently at the school. Multiple-birth siblings are all admitted together even if this exceeds the PAN. Years 8-11 also each have an admission number of 140.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
