When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children and previously looked after children. This includes children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Baptised Catholic children with a sibling in the school — Baptised Catholic children who have a sibling in the school at the time of admission.
3. 3Baptised Catholic children resident in named parishes — Baptised Catholic children resident in parishes of Our Lady of Reconciliation, Our Lady Immaculate, St Anthony, St Francis Xavier, St John and St Sylvester and the former parishes of Holy Cross, St Alphonsus, St Joseph, St Mary's Highfield Street and St Mary of the Angels (Friary).
4. 4Other baptised Catholic children — Other baptised Catholic children.
5. 5Other children with a sibling in the school — Other children who have a sibling in the school at the time of admission.
6. 6Children attending named Catholic Feeder Primary Schools — Children attending one of the following Catholic Feeder Primary Schools in the parishes named in criterion 3 above: Faith, Holy Cross, Our Lady Immaculate, St John's, The Trinity.
7. 7Children from other Christian denominations — Children from other Christian denominations. Proof of Baptism in the form of a Baptismal Certificate or confirmation in writing that the applicant is a member of their Faith community from an appropriate Minister of Religion is required.
8. 8Children of other faiths — Children of other faiths. An appropriate Faith Leader would need to confirm in writing that the applicant is a member of their faith group.
9. 9Other children — Other children.

If two applications tie: If it is not possible to offer places for all applicants within any criteria above then places will be allocated to the children who live nearest to the school. Distance will be measured by straight line distance between the child's permanent home address and the school using the local authority's computerised measuring system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more applicants where this distance would be last place/s to be allocated, we will use a system to randomly pick who will be offered a place.

Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education Health and Care Plan that names a school will be offered a place without using the admission criteria and will count as part of the school's published admission number. The admission authority is St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust (SJCMAT). The school works in partnership with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
