When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children and previously looked after children. This includes children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care due to being adopted.
2. 2Baptised Catholics from named feeder primary schools — Baptised Catholics attending one of the following named feeder primary schools: Liverpool Schools: Christ the King, St Paschal Baylon, Much Woolton, St Clare's, St Gregory's, Our Lady of Good Help, Bishop Eton, Our Lady of the Assumption. Knowsley Schools: Holy Family (Liverpool 25)*, St Andrew's, St Mark's.
3. 3Baptised Catholic children resident in listed parishes (not attending named feeder schools) — Baptised Catholic children resident in the parishes listed but who do not attend one of the named feeder primary schools: Christ the King and Our Lady (incorporating former Parishes of Christ the King, Our Lady of Good Help and St Paschal Baylon), St Mary, St Clare, Our Lady of Assumption (incorporating the former Parishes of St Gregory and St Cyril), Bishop Eton, St John Vianney (incorporating the former Parishes of Holy Family, St Andrew and St Mark).
4. 4Baptised Catholic boys with a sibling at the college — Baptised Catholic boys who have a sibling at the college at the time of likely admission. This includes full, half or step siblings, adopted and foster siblings who are living at the same address and are part of the same family unit.
5. 5Baptised Catholic boys — Baptised Catholic boys.
6. 6Boys of other Christian denominations with a sibling at the college — Boys of other Christian denominations who have a sibling at the college at the time of admission. This includes full, half or step siblings, adopted and foster siblings who are living at the same address and are part of the same family unit.
7. 7Boys of other Christian denominations — Boys of other Christian denominations defined by the Trust as being any denomination in membership of, or sharing the statement of belief, (the "Basis") of Churches together in England. Proof of Baptism in the form of a Baptisimal Certificate or confirmation in writing that the applicant is a member of their Faith Community from an appropriate Minister of Religion is required.
8. 8Boys of other faiths — Boys of other faiths – it will be necessary for a Minister of Religion to confirm membership of their faith group.
9. 9Other boys — Other boys.

If two applications tie: If it is not possible to offer places for all applicants within any criteria above then places will be allocated to the children who live nearest to the school. Distance will be measured by the Local Authority in a straight line between the child's permanent home address and the school using the Local Authority's computerised measuring system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more applicants where this distance would be last place/s to be allocated, we will use a system to randomly pick who will be offered a place.

Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or Education Health Care Plan that names a school will be offered place without using the admission criteria and will count as part of the school's published admission number. Holy Family Primary School is situated in Arncliffe Road, Liverpool 25; any other schools bearing the same name but not situated in Arncliffe Road have not been designated as a feeder school. The school is a Catholic boys' high school.
