When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the Academy determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated by Halton Local Authority, using the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG - address point system) which measures a straight-line distance from the unique address point of the child's permanent address to the unique address point of the school in metres. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the Academy.
Within each category, sibling priority applies: the attendance of a brother or sister at the Academy at the time of enrolment will increase the priority of an application within each category so that the application will be placed at the top of the category in which the application is made (after looked after children). The 120 places are split: maximum 84 for Catholic applicants and maximum 36 for Church of England applicants. A Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must be completed and returned to the Academy by 31st October 2026 for criteria 2 and 3.
