was the furthest place offered for 2026-27 (Reception). The council's figures don't show whether anyone was refused, so it may not have been a cut-off.
Last distance offered at St Stephen's Infant School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the case of 2 or more applications that cannot be separated by the oversubscription criteria outlined above, we will use the distance between the school and a child's home as a tie breaker to decide between applicants. Priority will be given to children who live closest to the school. Distance will be measured in a straight line from the child's home address to the school's front gates. Where the distance between 2 or more children's homes and the school is the same, random allocation will be used to decide between them.
Before the application of oversubscription criteria, children with a statement of special educational need or EHCP which names the school will be admitted; PAN reduced accordingly. Pupils at St Stephen's Infant School do not transfer automatically to St Stephen's Junior School; a separate application is required.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
