was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at St Thomas' Catholic Primary School, Canterbury, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: The following order of priorities will be applied when applications within any of the above categories exceed the places available and it is necessary to decide between applications: i. A brother or sister on the school roll at the time of admission (with governors admitting twins/multiple births where logistically possible where one child is the last ranked); ii. A Certificate of Practice signed by the Parish Priest confirming the child is a practicing Catholic; iii. Living in the parish of St Thomas' in Canterbury; iv. Social, pastoral and medical needs which make the school particularly suitable for the child, with strong relevant evidence required; v. Proximity to the school of the child's home address, measured in a straight line using the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) address point. Where the last remaining place is to be allocated and two or more children are deemed to live at the same distance from the school, the place will be decided by the drawing of lots, independently supervised.
Governing Body is the admissions authority; school is voluntary aided in the Diocese of Southwark. Supplementary Information Form (Appendix 2) and Certificate of Catholic Practice required alongside the Kent Primary Common Application Form.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
