When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after children or children who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence, or special guardianship order. A looked after child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services functions (see the definition in section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989). 2. 2Places will then be allocated to students who are resident within the relevant catchment area, whose parents have requested a place at the relevant academy and who, at the time of admission, will have a sibling* attending the academy and are WASP/Unplaced. (see Annex 1)

In categories 1 – 10, when choices have to be made between children satisfying the same criteria, places will be offered to children living nearest to the Academy, measured by a straight line. The line will be measured from the centre of the home address to the Academy using the National Ordnance Survey set points.
