Alvaston Moor Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 11Looked after children or children who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship order including children who were previously in state care outside of England and who ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Places will then be allocated to students who are 2WASP (Without a School Place/Unplaced *see Annex 1).
3. 3Children who are both living in the 3catchment area served by the academy and have 4siblings of compulsory school age still attending the academy at the time of admission.
4. 4Other children living in the 3catchment area at the time of admission. Where this is the case, the Council will assess applications from the address the parents are living at the closing date and will reassess applications on the National Offer Date.
5. 5Children who do not live in the 3catchment area served by the academy, but who have 4siblings of compulsory school age attending the academy at the time of their admission.
6. 6Other children whose parents have requested a place. In the event that the academy has not met its intended admission number within criteria 2-5, then priority will be given to the applicant’s permanent address is nearest to the academy. Tiebreaker: In the event that two or more applicants meet the admissions criteria equally, priority will be given to the child living nearest the academy, measured by a straight line. The line will be measured from the home address to the academy using the national Ordnance Survey set points.
