When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — A 'looked after child' or a child who appears (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England or was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence, or special guardianship order. (A looked after child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services functions - see the definition in section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989.)
2. 2Catchment area with sibling — Children who are both living in the Normal Area or Catchment Area served by the school and have siblings (brothers or sisters) of compulsory school age still attending the school at the time of their admission.
3. 3Other children in the catchment area — Other children living in the catchment area at the closing date for applications, reassessed on the National Offer Date.
4. 4Siblings outside the catchment area — Children who do not live in the Normal Area served by the school but who have siblings (brothers or sisters) of compulsory school age attending the school at the time of their admission.
5. 5Other children whose parents requested a place — Other children whose parents have requested a place.
6. 6Late requests — Children whose parents did not request a place by the Local Authority deadline for completion of the Common Application Form.

Admission after pupils with a Statement of SEN naming the school. Document's Definitions section describes distance as "the shortest walking route from the front door of the child's permanent home address... to the main entrance of the school, using the Local Authority's computerised measuring system, with those living closer to the school being given preference" but does not explicitly state this is applied as a within-criterion tie-break. Sixth Form: 10-20 external places typically, allocated by the same oversubscription criteria after internal Year 11 transfers, subject to course/subject-group requirements. Governors state they may exercise discretion not to accept applications from children with known behaviour difficulties (referred to the In Year Fair Access panel).
