North Brent School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked After Children, including previously Looked After Children and children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Special medical or social reasons. These reasons must relate to the student and does not apply to family members. Parents applying under this criterion must provide supporting evidence from a professional e.g. a consultant, stating why North Brent School is the most suitable school and the difficulties caused if the child attends another school.
3. 3Children who have a sibling at North Brent School on the date of admission.
4. 4Children of staff of North Brent School: priority will be given to children of staff in either of the following circumstances: a) where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made; and/or b) the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
5. 5Distance Measurement: 75% of places will be offered to children who live closest to WEMBLEY HIGH TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE, measured in a straight line from the main entrance of Wembley High Technology College to the main entrance of the child's permanent address (including flats), with those living nearest accorded the highest priority. 25% of places will be offered to children who live closest to North Brent School, measured in the same way from the main entrance of North Brent School. Where applicants live in the same block of flats, measurements will be taken from the door of each individual.

If two applications tie: Within each criterion, priority will be given to the applicant who lives closer to the school (in a straight line from the front door of the child's permanent address to the school reception). A random allocator will be used to determine the offer of a place where two or more children are deemed to live the same distance from the school.

The admission number for Year 7 in 2027-28 is 180; the policy records over 500 applications for 210 places in September 2026. NOTE the unusual distance rule: three quarters of places are allocated by distance from WEMBLEY HIGH TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE, not from North Brent School itself, and only a quarter by distance from North Brent School.
