Distance depends on the band here
Dixons Kings Academy admits by banding: applicants are placed into bands and each band is filled separately, so there is no single last-offer distance. Each band has its own, and which one applies depends on your child's assessment — so one number could not answer this for every child.
How the bands work: 55% of places from the whole cohort will be offered to an inner catchment area (post code zone BD7). The remaining 45% of places will be offered to an outer catchment area (post code zones BD1-6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 18). Ability banding: assessment marks divided into 9 stanine bands, with places allocated from each band in proportion to the number of applicants in that band.
