was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Dixons Music Primary, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If demand exceeds places at points b), e), f), or g), places will be decided based upon the distance (proximity) of the home address (see note 7) to the Academy, with those who live closest receiving priority for the place / s. If there are two or more children from equidistant addresses but only one place remains, the decision of who will be offered the place will be made by using a computerised random number generator programme (see note 4).
Up to 6 of the 60 Reception places (10% of intake) are reserved for children who demonstrate musical aptitude assessed via a supplementary information form and musical workshop, scored out of 40, with 24+ required to qualify (criterion c). Where twins/triplets/siblings apply for the same year group and only one place is available, siblings will also be offered a place above the admission number. Demand for criterion (d) resolved by random number generator if oversubscribed.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
