Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Holy Souls Catholic Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where there is oversubscription within a category, priority given to children living closest to the school determined by shortest distance (straight-line measurement from home to Gate A of the school). Random selection by computerised system used where distances are identical and cannot otherwise be separated.
PAN set at 30 for Reception September 2027. EHCP: Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the school must be admitted before these arrangements are applied - this reduces places available to other children. Supplementary Information Form (SIF) required for Catholic applicants, evidence of Baptism/Reception required. Twins/multiple births admitted where logistically possible even if PAN exceeded. Deferred entry allowed up to first day of summer term 2028; part-time places available until compulsory school age. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Birmingham City Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
