Hasmonean Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Orthodox Jewish children who are ‘looked after’ by a local authority and Orthodox Jewish children who were adopted (or subject to child arrangements orders or special guardianship orders) immediately following having been ‘looked after’
2. 2Orthodox Jewish brothers and sisters whose siblings are at the school at the time of admission or who formerly attended the school for at least three consecutive terms within the period of two years before the date of entry. For these purposes “siblings” shall include half-siblings, step-siblings and adopted siblings who are Orthodox Jewish children and who are living at the same address
3. 3children of staff where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made
4. 4in Years 1 – 6 priority will be given to Orthodox children who are currently educated at non-Jewish schools
5. 5other Orthodox Jewish children
6. 6‘looked after’ children and/or previously looked after children other than those who are Orthodox Jews
7. 7other children. If in any category there are more qualifying applicants than there are available places, priority will be given to those living nearest to the school by straight line measuring in accordance with the Local Authority’s measuring system described in its guidance booklet for parents applying for school places (“The Measuring System”), but with measuring taking place to the main entrance of the school site. When the parents of the child live separately, the address of the child for the Measuring System shall be the address at which the child usually lives. When the parents of the child live separately but the child lives with both parents at different addresses, the child’s home address for the Measuring System will be taken to be the address where the child lives for most of the week. If the child spends an equal amount of time with each parent, the address will be taken to be that of the main parent/carer eligible to receive Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit. If all criteria and measures are equal then a random ballot will be the tie breaker. easy and secure application online

Barnet Council's composite primary admissions guide for September 2027 entry, the one document that carries its own-admission-authority schools. Admission limit read from word coordinates: the guide sets each label and its value in different columns. The InDesign template default of 60 was present underneath this value in the PDF text layer and was discarded; the figure here is the one printed on the page.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
