When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children who live closest to the school, measured in kilometres in a straight line (as the crow flies). The Barking and Dagenham Admissions Team measure all distances using ESRI's geographical information system, from the centre of the child's home to the school's main gate. If you live outside the area, we will use the same system to measure distances. When children have an equal claim to a place because their measurements are the same (for example, from a block of flats), we will use a lottery system (random allocation) to offer places to children.
Within each of the 9 numbered categories, two sub-provisions apply in order: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need places the application at the top of the category; (ii) attendance of a sibling at the school increases priority within the category, placed after (i).
