When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the Governing Body will give priority to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (see Note 5). Distances calculated by straight line measurement from address point to school centroid; ties resolved by random allocation (lottery).
The admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan is dealt with by a completely separate procedure; children with an EHCP naming the school must be admitted, reducing places available before these criteria are applied. Governing body will, where logistically possible, admit twins and siblings from multiple births where one is last child ranked within PAN. CATCHMENT: For the purposes of this policy, parish boundaries are as shown on the Archdiocese of Birmingham parish boundary map... [detailed boundary description of the parish of St Joseph's Whitnash, starting at junction of Tachbrook Road and St Helen's Road, following named roads]. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Warwickshire County Council school admissions directory. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
