was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Higham Lane School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If a tie-break is needed to decide which child will be offered a place, the child living closest to the school will be offered a place. Distance will be measured from the Postal Address File (PAF) of the child’s home to the centre point (‘centroid’) of the school in a straight line. If two or more applicants live an equal distance from the school, random allocation will be used to determine which child will be offered a place. Random allocation will not be used if siblings from a multiple birth are tied for a place; they will all be offered a place and the admission number will be exceeded.
The academy trust will admit any pupil with an Education, Health and Care plan which names the school before applying the oversubscription criteria; this may reduce places available. Document also covers Sixth Form (Year 12) admissions separately with academic entry requirements and a PAN of 160, not included here as this entry is for Year 7 main entry. CATCHMENT: The whole of the parish of Caldecote is included. From the Caldecote parish boundary the north-eastern boundary of the priority area follows the Warwickshire County boundary to The Long Shoot. The southern boundary is formed by The Long Shoot, Hinckley Road, Leicester Road, Back Street, Newton Road, Corporation Street, Central Avenue, Midland Road, Tuttle Hill and Mancetter Road. Only the northern sides of these roads are included in the priority area, with the exception of The Long Shoot and Hinckley Road, where both sides are included in the priority area. The western boundary is formed by the Hartshill Parish boundary from Mancetter Road to the Caldecote Parish boundary. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Warwickshire County Council school admissions directory. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
