Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2025-26 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at All Saints Carshalton Church of England Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Proximity of the child's home address to the school (straight line, measured to the school's front door on Rotherfield Road using the London Borough of Sutton Primary School Distance Checker), with priority to those living nearer; in the event of equidistance, lots will be drawn by an independent person.
Children with a statement of special educational needs or an EHCP naming the school are admitted first (Category A - Special Places), before the Foundation/Open allocation. Remaining places are split 80% Foundation / 20% Open (with reallocation if either pool is undersubscribed). The Open Places category (C) has its own separate ordered criteria for applicants who do not qualify for Foundation places: 1. Looked After/Previously Looked After Children; 2. Exceptional medical or social need; 3. Sibling on roll at time of entry; 4. Children of permanent staff employed 2+ years or recruited to fill a demonstrable skill-shortage vacancy; 5. Other children. Unsuccessful Foundation applicants are automatically considered under Open criteria. Both Foundation and Open lists use the same distance-based tie-breaker described above.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
