When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event that two or more applicants have equal right to a place under any of the above criteria and there are insufficient places, the Governing Body will use distance, in the first instance, to decide between applicants; if applicants live equidistant from the school the Governing Body will draw lots to decide between applicants.
Children with a statement of special educational needs or EHC Plan placed by the local authority before the normal admission round are admitted outside/before this oversubscription process, reducing places available to other applicants; this is not listed as ranked criterion 1 within the oversubscription list itself.
