When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the front door of the child’s home address (including the community entrance to flats) and the main entrance of the school using the local authority’s computerised measuring system... In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each category, sub-priority is given first to children with exceptional social, medical or pastoral need evidenced at application, then to those with a sibling attending the school at time of enrolment, before the tie-break (distance) is applied. EHCP-named children are admitted first by law and are not part of the numbered oversubscription list.
