Monkwood Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — Relevant Looked After Children and previously looked after children (see note (a)).
2. 2Catchment + sibling — Children who, on 15th January 2027, live in the catchment area of the school as defined by the Admission Authority and will have an older sibling on the roll of the school in Years 1-6 at the start of the academic year 2027.
3. 3Catchment area — Children who, on 15th January 2027, live in the catchment area of the school as defined by the Admission Authority.
4. 4Sibling (out of catchment) — Children who, on 15th January 2027, it is expected will have an older sibling on the roll of the preferred school in Years 1-6 at the start of the academic year 2027.
5. 5Nearest distance — Children who, on 15th January 2027, live nearest to the school measured by a straight line on a horizontal plane, (commonly known as measurement 'as the crow flies').

Document also describes a staff-child priority definition (for children of Maltby Learning Trust staff) immediately before the Wickersley Partnership Trust school list, but this staff criterion is not incorporated into the numbered oversubscription list (A/B 1-5) applicable to the Wickersley Partnership Trust schools including Monkwood, so it has been excluded as it is not clearly part of Monkwood's ranked criteria. Children with an EHCP naming the school (category A) are admitted first by law and are not counted as a ranked oversubscription criterion here. No PAN, faith requirement, banding or explicit tie-breaker is printed for this school; note (c) on 50/50 custody and service children provisions also apply.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
