Maltby Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked After Children and previously Looked After Children — Looked After Children and previously Looked After Children (see note (a) below for the full definition).
2. 2Catchment area with older sibling in Years 8-11 — Children who, on 31st October 2026, live in the catchment area of the school as defined by the Admission Authority and it is expected will have an older brother or sister on the roll of this school in Years 8-11 at the start of the academic year 2027 (see notes (b), (c) and (d) below)
3. 3Feeder schools — Children who, on 31st October 2026, are on the roll of one of our associated primary/junior/junior and infant catchment area schools (feeder schools) as identified by the Admissions Authority. (see note (f) below)
4. 4Catchment area — Children who, on 31st October 2026, live in the catchment area of this school as defined by the Admission Authority (see note (b) below)
5. 5Older sibling on roll — Children who, on 31st October 2026, it is expected will have an older sibling on the roll of this school in Years 8-11 at the start of the academic year 2027 (see notes (c) and (d) below)
6. 6Children of staff — Children of staff employed by Maltby Academy where the member of staff meets the three criteria below: a. Is employed on a permanent Maltby Academy contract on 31st October 2026. b. Has been employed in that permanent role for two or more years as of 31st October 2026. c. Is a school based member of staff. This priority applies to all permanent school based staff (teaching, leadership and associate professional staff) employed at Maltby Academy. (see note (g) below)
7. 7Distance — Children who, on 31st October 2026, live nearest to the school measured by a straight line on a horizontal plane, (commonly known as a measurement 'as the crow flies').

If two applications tie: Children who, on 31st October 2026, live nearest to the school measured by a straight line on a horizontal plane, (commonly known as a measurement 'as the crow flies').

After allocation of places to children with an EHCP naming the school, remaining places allocated per the numbered criteria. Feeder schools listed on page 23 of the booklet (not included in this extract).
