How places were offered at King David High School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: The distance from the child's permanent home address to the main entrance to the school. In all cases where distance from home to school is used to determine admission, those children living nearest to the school will be given preference. The distance will be measured by straight line distance between the child's permanent home address (including flats and apartments) and the school using the local authority's computerised measuring system. If two or more children live the same distance from the school and there is only one place available, random allocation will be used to decide which child is admitted.
Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan where the school is named in the plan, and the school can meet their needs will be admitted and the number of places available to others will reduce accordingly. A child's permanent home address is defined as the address where the child spends the majority of school nights i.e. Sunday night to Thursday night inclusive. If the child lives at two different addresses during this period with adults who have parental responsibility, the parent in receipt of child benefit will be classed as the main carer and their address taken as the child's permanent home address. Where multiple applications are received from one family e.g. twins, triplets or other multiple births, for a single remaining place in the oversubscription criteria, the school will admit both/all children even if it means going over the indicated admissions number. Certificate of Religious Practice requirements must be met for Categories A1 and A3 with minimum 4 points threshold.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
