When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of a 'tie break' random allocation will be used. Random allocations will be administered by HCC on behalf of the Trustees of the school. Every child entered onto the HCC admissions database has an individual random number assigned between 1 and 1 million, against each preference school. When there is a need for a final tiebreak the random number is used to allocate the place, with the lowest number given priority. In the event of over-subscription within any of the criteria 1-6, a tiebreak of the applicant living closest to the school will be used, using a straight-line distance measurement from each applicant's home to the school. If two children live the same distance from the school random allocation will be used as a tie break and this random allocation process will be independently supervised.
Children with an EHCP naming Goffs Academy will be admitted before oversubscription criteria are applied. Students must be on roll at feeder school at 31/10 in year of application. Language aptitude test is optional and held in Autumn Term prior to application; up to 10% of places available via this criterion unless insufficient applicants. Fair Access Protocol children admitted above PAN. Continued Interest list re-ordered according to criteria as new applicants added.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
