When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to candidates living nearest to the College, measured in a straight line from the child’s house, using AddressBase Premium national grid co-ordinates. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each oversubscription criterion, priority is further given first to children with exceptional medical, social or pastoral needs (with compelling written evidence), then to baptised Catholic boys with a sibling currently at the school, then to baptised Catholic boys with a sibling previously at the school, before the distance tie-break is applied. EHCP admissions are dealt with under a separate statutory procedure, not stated as first priority within these oversubscription criteria. Multiple births (twins/triplets) may cause the PAN to be exceeded if one sibling is offered the last place.
