was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2025-26 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Aylward Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If more applications are received in any one criterion than there are places available the tie-breaker of distance from the address point for the home address to the centre point for the school site, measured in a straight line, will be applied. The school centre point is computer generated and is the centre point of a bounded polygon of the school site that includes buildings, playgrounds and car parks but excludes playing fields. In cases where applicants live equidistant and places cannot be offered to all of the applicants affected, the available place(s) will be allocated using a random computer selection.
Transcribed from Aylward Primary School Admissions Arrangements for 2027/2028 (the academy trust is the admission authority). The number of Reception places available for September 2027 entry is 90. The published list numbers its criteria 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 but item 5 is blank in the document, so six criteria are recorded here in the order printed. Children of multiple births: where there is only one place available and the next child on the waiting list is one of a twin, triplet or other multiple birth group, all of the multiple-birth children would be admitted even if this meant exceeding the admission number.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
