St Mary's Priory Catholic Junior School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Catholic 'looked after' children and previously 'looked after' children. (see notes 2 & 3)
2. 2Baptised Catholic children at feeder Infant school — Baptised Catholic children at St Mary's Priory Catholic Infant school in Year 2.
3. 3Catholic children with sibling at Infant or Junior school — Catholic children who have a sibling at the St Mary's Priory Infant school or St Mary's Priory Catholic Junior school at the time of admission. (see note 3)
4. 4Other baptised Catholic children — Other baptised Catholic children. (see note 3)
5. 5Other looked after/previously looked after children — Other 'looked after' children and previously 'looked after' children. (see note 2)
6. 6Catechumens and Eastern Christian Church members — Catechumens and members of an Eastern Christian Church. (see notes 4&5)
7. 7Non-Catholic siblings — Non-Catholic children who have a sibling at the school at the time of admission.
8. 8Other Christian denominations — Children of other Christian denominations whose membership is evidenced by a minister of religion. (see note 6)
9. 9Other faiths — Children of other faiths whose membership is evidenced by a religious leader. (see note 7)
10. 10Any other children — Any other children.

If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated by the Local Authority... If two or more applications are received from the same block of flats, the applicant with the lower door number will be classed as the nearest... In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out by the local authority's computerised allocation system.

Within each category, exceptional social/medical/pastoral need (with compelling evidence) is placed at top of category, followed by children with a sibling attending at time of enrolment, placed at top after (i). Twins/siblings from multiple births admitted where logistically possible even if it exceeds PAN.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
