Carterhatch Junior School

When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — priority will be given first to Looked After Children and children who were adopted (or subject to residence orders or special guardianship orders) immediately following having been looked after
2. 2Children attending the linked infant/primary school — and then to all children attending the linked primary school
3. 3Exceptional medical grounds — Children for whom a particular school is appropriate on exceptional medical grounds. Such applications will be considered under this criterion only if they are supported by an attached written statement from a doctor demonstrating a very specific connection between the child's medical need and the school requested. (2.1b)
4. 4Siblings — Children with a brother or sister who are already on the roll of the school who will still be attending the school or linked school at the time of proposed admission; must be living at the same address. (2.1c)
5. 5Staff children — Children whose parent is a member of staff who has been employed at the school concerned for two or more years at the time of application and/or children of a member of staff recruited to fill a vacancy for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. (2.1d)
6. 6Priority zone — Children genuinely resident within the school's designated priority zone, as described in 1.2 above. (2.1e) — this priority zone provision applies specifically to Chase Side Primary School; no priority zone is defined for Hazelwood Junior School in this document.

Carterhatch Junior School is an academy in the Connect Education Trust. Enfield Council "Primary Schools in Enfield — Admissions Criteria 2026" booklet, p4-5 and p7 ("Admissions criteria for community primary, infant and junior schools, Connect Education Trust, EdAct Trust, Ivy Learning Trust, Attigo Learning Trust and Children First Academy Trust"; p7: "The following schools are all Academies and their Admission Criteria are as detailed on page 4") lists the trust's schools under the community admissions criteria, so the council's ranked list for community schools applies to it for 2026-27. Criterion "designated priority zone" applies only to schools with an identified zone (this school has no published zone). Template row: the council's Year 3 community criteria for 2026-27.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
